CROHN’S DISEASE/COLITIS

Henery JG
Osteopathic management
The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association 1948 Jun;47(10):522-525

Osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) is aimed at normalizing areas of tension to restore the body to homeostasis and enhance its natural healing capabilities. OMT can be applied to gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, diarrhea, intestinal obstruction, intestinal colic, colitis, mucous colitis, hemorrhoids, and flatulency. Addressing the specific lesion pertaining to the disease will help alleviate pain, increase peristalsis, remove impactions, stretch adhesions, strengthen weakened muscles, and in general give tone to all of the abdominal organs.
